. City of Margaret December 18, 2018 6:00 P.M. In attendance: Councilman Chapman, Councilman Perry, Councilman Carter, Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre, Councilman Ray, Mayor Howard, Prayer: Mr. Barker Mayor Howard called Meeting to order Discussion Mayor Howard asked for approval of minutes for November 27, 2018. Councilman Perry made the Motion to approve minutes for November 27, 2018. Councilman Chapman seconded the Motion. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Howard asked for the approval to pay the County bill totaling $3750.00 for Resource Officers. Councilman Chapman made the Motion to pay the bill for $3750.00 to the County. Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre seconded the Motion. The Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Howard asked the Council whether or not the City would participate in the Weather Preparedness Tax Holiday. Councilman Ray made the Motion for the City to participate in the Weather Preparedness Tax Holiday. Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre seconded the Motion. The Motion passed unanimously. Debra Lily’s road was next on the Agenda. Mr. Barker researched it and the is not a road and it has not been accepted by the City of Margaret. Ms. Lily’s road is a private drive. The City Clerk will send a letter to Ms. Lily explaining that the road is not a road accepted by the City of Margaret and that the City does not have a right away. Therefore, the City can only patch the holes along the main road. Ms. Brown submitted a variance to put a mobile home on Polo Lane. Mr. Barker stated that he viewed pictures of the mobile home and they were nice. Mr. Barker also explained to Ms. Brown that the pictures must be a true image of the mobile home. Mr. Barker gave his report to the Council. The total revenue for inspections for the month is $4828.00. And the total for new homes for 2018 is 79. Chief Smith informed the Council that officer made 127 arrests, responded to 42 accidents, had a total of 3083 calls, and had 628 tickets. Chief Smith also informed the Council that ALEA has approved the Margaret Police Department is to enter warrants into NCIC. Mayor Howard informed the City Council that the new city hall has gone out for bids and will appear in the newspaper on December 26,2018, January 2,2019 and January 9 , 2019. All bids will be opened on January 16,2019 at 2:00 PM. Councilman Ray made the Motion to moved the Council Meetings because of the New Year holiday to January8,2019 and January 22,2019 at 6:00 PM. Councilman Chapman seconded the Motion. The Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Howard requested that City Attorney Erskine Funderburg be at the next meeting which will be on January 8, 2019. Councilman Ray informed the Council that the Basketball for the Youth Association is going well and the roads in Hunter’s Crossing is not fixed. The asphalt is bleeding, and there are at least 4” potholes in the road in The first curve in Hunter’s Crossing. A concerned resident of Hunter’s Crossing asked the Council whether or not anyone checked to make sure the County has met the specs on paving when the paved Hunter’s Crossing? Councilman Perry informed the resident that the no City performs checks and balances when it comes to the County. Councilman Chapman suggested that the Council keep an eye on the lots That Four Star have sold. Councilman Chapman made the Motion to adjourn. The Motion was seconded by Councilman Perry.
