. City of Margaret February 18, 2019 6:00 P.M. In attendance: Councilman Chapman, Councilman Perry, Councilman Carter Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre, Councilman Ray, Mayor Howard Prayer: Mr. Barker Mayor Howard called Meeting to order Discussion Mayor Howard asked for approval of minutes for February 5, 2019. Councilman Perry made the Motion to approve minutes for February 5, 2019. Councilman Ray seconded the Motion. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre Made the Motion to allow Charter Communications to transfer their cable franchise to Hargray Communications Group Inc. Mr. Barker informed the Council that to tar and gravel with two layers and muck out soft areas in Hunter’s Crossing will cost $71,000.00. This would include everything up to the 4 way. Magnolia will cost the City $24,537.50, and Sunrise will cost $28,087.50. Councilman Chapman asked whether the County will pickup some of the cost if the City uses someone else? The county presented Mr. Barker with two options: Option 1- County cost for mucking out “4” will be $39,140.75. Option 2 - County cost for mucking out “6” will be $60,490.20. Mr. Barker also received quotes from Massey on asphalt paving. Paving Hunter’s Crossing with labor and “2” asphalt will cost $91,000.00. The Street Funds have $118,193.15 combined and the Capital Improvement Fund has 40,966.51, and when you combine all the total is $159,159.66. Councilman Perry made a Motion to allow Mr. Barker to get more seal bids on Hunter’s Crossing up to the 4 way with “2” mucked out. Councilman Carter asked Councilman Chapman whether he has heard anything from Etowah Chemical about the chemical to get the rust off of the City’s storm shelters, Councilman Chapman will contact someone concerning the chemicals. Mayor Pro-Tem asked about the paint and Councilman Chapman will check into the paint as well. Councilman Ray informed the Council about the City purchasing a batting cage for Dillard Park. Mayor Pro-Tem made the Motion to adjourn. The Motion was seconded by Councilman Ray.
