. City of Margaret June 2, 2020 6:00 P.M. In attendance: Councilman Chapman, Councilman Perry, Councilman Carter, Councilman Ray, Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre and Mayor Howard, Prayer: Mr. Barker Mayor Howard called Meeting to order Discussion Mayor Howard asked for approval of minutes for May 19, 2020 meeting. Councilman Perry made the Motion to approve minutes for May 19, 2020. Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre seconded the Motion. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Howard and Mr. Barker informed the Council that Hunter’s Crossing Rd. will be repaired by McCarthy but can’t give a time frame. Mr. Barker states that the roads haven’t gotten any worse. The road on Moonlite was addressed, the Council informed Erskine the City Attorney that the road was only accepted to the top of the hill. Erskine informed the Council that if the City has not accepted the road then the developer is responsible for any repairs on bottom part of Moonlite. Erskine will draft a letter to residents warning them of the damages to Moonlite Dr., and Erskine will also send a letter to potential developers stating that Moonlite will not be accepted until it is brought up to standard. The City needs to put up a blinking sign and a 15 MPH sign until Moonlite Dr. is repaired. Mr. Barker gave is report next: Electrical Permits - 11 Plumbing Permits – 5 Mechanical Permits – 3 Building Permits – 17 Gas Permits – 1 Total permits = 37 Council asked Erskine to draft a Weight Limit Ordinance that addresses all roads accepted by the City of Margaret. With the exception of emergency vehicles, garbage trucks and school buses. Councilman Ray would like to know who would be the enforcer of the weight limit ordinance. Erskine stated that the City could purchase portable scales and that the Police Department would be the enforcers. Parking on the City streets was also discussed. Erskine stated that the City has the authority to enforce all parking violations which address parking in the right of way. The ABC Wrecker driver is parking in the right a way, therefore he can be asked to not park the wrecker on the street in front of his house.and that the City has no obligation to fix the driveway which was brought up in the last meeting because it is located in the City’s right of way. Councilman Ray asked Chief Smith, why he has two Police vehicles park in his driveway? Chief Smith stated that he is trying to get all recalls fixed on his old patrol car before he puts it into rotation, again. Erskine addressed the house on Joy St. Erskine states that the City needs to whether or not the City has an ordinance that addresses condemning old houses or we could sue the property owner because of liens the City already have on the property. Mayor Howard asked the Council for anymore comments: Councilman Chapman – nothing Councilman Perry – nothing Mayor Pro-Tem Mcintyre – nothing Councilman Ray – nothing Councilman Carter – nothing  Councilman Chapman made the Motion to adjourn. Motion was seconded by Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre. Motion passed unanimously.
