In attendance: Councilman Chapman, Councilman Jonathan Ray, Councilman
Matthew Tortorice, Councilman Darius Crump, Mayor Pro-Tem
Daryl McIntyre and Mayor Jeffrey Wilson

Mayor Wilson called Meeting to order
Discussion
Mayor Jeffrey Wilson asked for the approval of Council Meeting Minutes
from 1-4-2022. Councilman Matthew Tortorice made the Motion to
approve the minutes from the 1-4-2022 meeting. Councilman Darius
Crump seconded the Motion. Motion passed with Councilman James
Chapman abstaining.
Centerville Everson’s family addressed the Council concerning naming
Duke St. after him because he is a lifelong resident of City of Margaret.
Mayor Wilson asked the Council and no one seems to object. A vote
concerning this will be held at the next Council Meeting.
Water Operator Isaac Howard informed the Council that he needs to
purchase an altitude valve in the amount of $11,503.53, before we get into a
situation of not having enough water. Councilman Matthew Tortorice
would like to consider buying purchasing the altitude valve out of the
American Rescue Plan. Councilman Jonathan Ray would like to use the
water tap money. Mayor Jeffrey Wilson asked if the Council would like to
suspend the rules for immediate consideration? There was no response.
Impact fees were discussed next. A $500.00 impact fee for all new building
permits were proposed. Councilman Matthew Tortorice would like to make
sure, all builders are notified. Councilman Matthew Tortorice made the
motion to suspend the rules in order to consider impact fees. The Motion
died from lack of a seconded.
Councilman Matthew Tortorice would like for the City to prep the purchased
land, in order to attract potential developers. Mayor Jeffrey Wilson
suggested selling timber off the land. Councilman Jonathan Ray will get
quotes for mulching the trees on the land.
Chief Parrish addressed the Council about making upgrades to Fire Stations
1 & 2. Chief Parrish would like to brick, and put-up aluminum lettering up
at Station 2. Chief Parrish would like to put in tile flooring, sliding, and put-
up aluminum lettering at Fire Station 1. Councilman Jonathan Ray would
like for Chief Parrish to get quotes on the improvements for Fire Stations 1
& 2, because the City will eventually have to build a 3rd Fire Station.
The pa system will have to be rebidded because Megan Thompson is no
longer at Structural Engineering.
Keith Hager the City Engineer gave an update concerning the sewer.
Mayor Jefferey Wilson asked for comments:
Councilman Jonathan Ray – wants to know status of stolen property report.
Lt. Sanchez informed Councilman Jonathan Ray that the reports had been
turned over to the County.
Councilman James Chapman – nothing
Councilman Darius Crump - nothing
Mayor Pro-Ten Daryl McIntyre - nothing
Councilman James Chapman made the Motion to adjourn. Councilman
Darius Crump seconded the Motion.
Meeting adjourned at 7:34 PM.
