In attendance: Councilman James Chapman, Councilman Matthew Tortorice,
Councilman Darius Crump, Councilman Jonathan Ray, and Mayor
Jeffrey Wilson
Absent: Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre

Mayor Wilson called Meeting to order
Discussion
Mayor Jeffrey Wilson asked for the approval of Council Meeting Minutes
from 4-5-2022. Councilman Matthew Tortorice made the Motion to
approve e the minutes from the 4-5-2022 meeting. Councilman James
Chapman seconded the Motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Stan Batemon a candidate for Chairman of County Commissioners race
spoke to the Council.
Council signed Resolution 2022-0419 Margaret Sewer Plant Accounts which
authorized the opening of 3 accounts for the sewer. The accounts will be
general fund, sewer deposits and sewer impact fee.
Councilman Darius Crump arrives at the meet 6:24 PM.
Jeff Barnes from Food Barn addressed the Council about possibly bring a
Food Barn to City of Margaret.
Councilman Jonathan Ray addressed the potholes in Ridgefield and Turkey
Trail. Councilman Matthew inquired about a rotation for potholes. The
water clerk will look into creating a form addressing potholes.
Councilman Jonathan Ray asked Chief George Wiggin about information
he requested from the Police Department.
Chief George Wiggin informed the Council that he only answers to the
Mayor.
Councilman Jonathan Ray made a Motion to table employee rates.
Councilman Matthew Tortorice seconded the Motion. The Motion passed
unanimously.
Councilman Matthew Tortorice suggested that the City Attorney, Erskine
Funderburg be contacted regarding increased taxes on rental companies.
Councilman James Chapman made a Motion to table discussion on sign
display. Councilman Matthew Tortorice seconded the Motion. Motion
passed unanimously.
Mayor Jeffrey Wilson informed the Council of the mutual agreement that
was signed by Bobby Smith, that states Bobby Smith and Daryl Pittard will
pay to pave Lakeside Dr.
Councilman Jonathan Ray inquired about an officer involved accident.
Councilman Jonathan Ray also wanted it noted on the record that he was
informed by the City Attorney, that police related information should be
provided by the Chief of Police.
Mayor Jeffrey Wilson asked for comments:
Councilman Jonathan Ray made a Motion to hire a third part to
investigated the officer involved accident. Motion died from lack of
seconded.
Councilman Matthew Tortorice thinks that Rausch Coleman needs to be
contacted concerning Brookhaven Dr.
Councilman Matthew Tortorice would like to revisit Police Department
salary increase.
Councilman Matthew Tortorice suggested that the City start annexing land
into the City.
Councilman Matthew Tortorice stated that the City Districts need to be
redone, because his District carries the bulk of the City’s population.
Councilman James Chapman made the Motion to adjourn. Councilman
Darius Crump seconded the Motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 7:36 PM.
