Councilman, Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre and Mayor Isaac

The meeting was called to order
Discussion:
Councilman James Chapman moved to table the redistrict discussion until
first meeting in October. Councilman Darius Crump seconded the Motion,
which passed unanimously.
Mayor Isaac Howard updated the Council on the Sunrise Lift Station and
Old Acton Road. The Sunrise Lift Station is waiting for gas to be put in it.
Old Acton Road is slated to be repaired by Trussville Utilities.
Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre moved to approve the minutes for the
Council Meeting on 5-21-2024. Councilman Chapman seconded the
Motion. The Motion failed due to a non-majority vote.
Councilman James Chapman moved to table the minutes for the Council
Meeting on 5-28-2024. Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre seconded the
Motion. The Motion passed unanimously.
Chief David Parrish informed the Council that termite damage was
Discovered when the contractor was repairing the Public Works Annex
building. The Council asked Chief David Parrish whether or not he had
three bids on the Public Works Annex repair. Chief David informed the
Council that he could only get one person to bid on the repair job. Chief
David Parrish gave the Council a bid from Robbie Dellinger in the amount
Of $44,740.00.
Councilman James Chapman moved to approve the old bid of
$19,250.00 and approve the new bid of $44,740.00. Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl
McIntyre seconded the Motion. The Motion passed unanimously.
The Council approved $4500.00 for fireworks on the fourth of July.
Mayor Isaac Howard informed the Council that the ADEM water
inspection was passed.
Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre moved to table the RPCGB
Comprehensive Plan until the first meeting in October. Councilman
Darius Crump seconded the Motion. The Motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre moved to table discussion on the city
inventory tracking until the first meeting in October. Councilman James
Chapman seconded the Motion. The Motion passed unanimously.
Chief Anthony Fields asked the Council for permission to purchase a
Radar trailer for $12,320.57 to deter traffic, use for fire and rescue and
public works. The Council asked Chief Fields to get another quote for a
radar trailer with a flock camera.
Chief David Parrish asked the Council to purchase a motor for the public
works 2008 F-150 for $10,000.00 because a new truck would cost
$48,000.00.
Councilman James Chapman moved to suspend the rules. Mayor
Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre seconded the Motion. The Motion passed
unanimously.
Councilman Chapman moved to allow Chief David Parrish up to
$10,000.00 for ProWrench to repair the 2008 F-150 for public works.
Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre moved to suspend the rules. Councilman
James Chapman seconded the Motion. The Motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Pro-Tem moved to prohibit the taping of the council meetings
using video or audio. Councilman James Chapman seconded the Motion.
The Motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Isaac Howard asked for any more comments:
Councilman Chapman had no comments.
Councilman Darius Crump had no comments
Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre had no comments
Resident of Woodland Ridge express concerns about repairing of roads in
Woodland Ridge Subdivision.
Chief Anthony Fields would like the Council to revisit parking on the
streets for 48 hours.
Mrs. Love addressed the Council about the repair work done in her yard
and the moving of her water line because of the Sunrise Lift Station.
Councilman James Chapman moved to adjourn. Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl
McIntyre seconded the Motion.
The meeting adjourned at 7:46 PM.
