VILLAGE OF MARQUETTE GREEN LAKE COUNTY, WISCONSIN Regular Meeting Minutes, May 8, 2023 - Village Hall The regular meeting of the Village Board, for the Village of Marquette, was called to order by President Cybul at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call: President – Art Cybul - present Clerk – Christina Garry –present Trustee – Peter Michalos - present Treasurer – Paula Gilbertson – present Trustee Tony Deiss - present There were 4 citizens in attendance. Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings Law: Agenda notice was posted in three public places - Village Hall door, kiosks at the Post Office and Truck Garage, also posted on the Village Website and emailed to Berlin Journal Newspapers. A motion to approve the agenda was made. Michalos /Deiss. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Approval of Minutes sent to Board Members: All minutes are posted on the Village Website and in the kiosks as a draft for the Board and the public to review, A motion was made to approve April Board Meeting. Deiss/Michalos. Motion passed. (Unanimous). A motion was made to approve the Special Park Meeting Minutes on April 19th, 2023 as presented. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (Unanimous). A Motion was made to approve the Organizational Meeting on April 25th, 2023 as presented. Michalos/Deiss. Motion Passed. (Unanimous). The Treasurer’s report was read. A Motion to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Deiss/Michalos. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Approve Payment of Bills: Presented for payment were vouchers 9666-9683 in the amount of $15,910.34 plus $3,700.00 for the maintained balance and utilities for a Grand total of $23,500.00, minus $11,541.00 (Check for Play Wisconsin Correction, which has already been transferred and paid) Motion to pay the bills as presented and transfer from the appropriate accounts the amount of $7,500.00 to the General Fund. Deiss/Michalos. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Citizen Comments – Time Limits and Rules Apply: Janet wanted to hear an update on the Park Meeting that was held. Discuss / Approve: Picnic license application from Marquette Fire Department, license will be for Memorial Day May 27th and 4th of July celebration on July 1st Motion to approve license. Michalos/Deiss. Motion Passed (Unanimous) Review open bids for LRIP, Board only received one bid and decided to table the bids till next month, Clerk will reach back out to other Asphalt Companies. Motion to table the bids for LRIP till the June Meeting. Michalos/Deiss. Motion Passed. (Unanimous). Board Reminders/Updates: Update on pier, one pier is in and the other pier will be in next week. Village lawn maintenance, all areas within the village were cut still has some trimming to do. Peter is still waiting on the Lawyer to call back about Cemetery information. Christina, QuickBooks has been updated to latest version and the dumpster and set to be delivered on May 17th. Art, talked to Derek about reviewing the project for the roads to make sure the drainage is correct and how that would impact sidewalks and cable that was buried. Update on the park that phase one was completed the date has been set for install on July 6th and the down payment has been received by the Play Wisconsin. Next a date will be set to get the rubber bark laid down once the playground has been put in. The Village board is looking for volunteers to help lay the rubber bark. Second Phase is putting the asphalt in for the basketball court. Art has still been applying for extra grants to help fund the basketball court and security cameras. Art wanted to update on the dredge bank project, they are a little behind schedule and are keeping an eye on the water levels. Towards the end of the project, they will be assessing the roads for damage and what needs to be repaired. Art talked about hosting pickle ball at the Village Hall, will have more information at a future meeting. Motion to adjourn at 7:55 p.m. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (Unanimous).
