VILLAGE OF MARQUETTE GREEN LAKE COUNTY, WISCONSIN Regular Meeting Minutes, August 14th, 2023 - Village Hall The regular meeting of the Village Board, for the Village of Marquette, was called to order by President Cybul at 7:00p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call: President – Art Cybul - present Clerk –Susan Geraldi –present Trustee – Peter Michalos - present Treasurer – Paula Gilbertson – present Trustee Tony Deiss - present There were 5 citizens in attendance. Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings Law: Agenda notice was posted in three public places - Village Hall door, kiosks at the Post Office and Truck Garage, also posted on the Village Website and emailed to Berlin Journal Newspapers. A motion to approve the agenda was made. Deiss/Michalos. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Approval of Minutes sent to Board Members: All minutes are posted on the Village Website and in the kiosks as a draft for the Board and the public to review. No changes made. A motion was made to approve the minutes as presented. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (Unanimous). The Treasurer’s report was read. Motion to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Approve Payment of Bills: Presented for payment were vouchers 9735-9752 in the amount of $10,189.73 plus $3,700.00 for the maintained balance and utilities for a Grand total of $13,889.73. Motion to pay the bills as presented and transfer from the appropriate accounts the amount of $9,700.00 to the General Fund. Deiss/Michalos. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Citizen Comments – Time Limits and Rules Apply: J. Burdick commented about doing an audit around village finances. Discuss / Approve: Letters for Ordinance Violations. Additional ordinance violations were reviewed and Sue Geraldi will be mailing out violation letters in the next week. Dan Sondalle is finalizing court papers on one violation and we must send documentation around the other violation to another attorney in Berlin due to a conflict of interest with Sondalle law firm. Discuss / Approve County Road Meeting for rebuild of 2nd street/County H Art will contact Highway commissioner to review his availability to hold an open meeting in the fall here in the Village. Discuss / Approve Park Commencement Activities. The Ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on either September 13th or 14th at 11am. Art and Pete will contact main sponsors to check their availability. Discuss / Approve Amendment to Ordinance 49 Amendment was unanimously approved requiring Green Lake County POWTS approval before a building permit is issued. Alignment with other municipalities in the County. Discuss / Approve new contract with Grand River Bookkeepers, LLC New Contract was reviewed and unanimously approved for Grand River to prepare quarterly payroll reporting and year end tax reporting for the Village. Discuss / Approve No Fire District 2% dues Reviewed letter from the state indicating that our Fire district will not be receiving this funding from the state due to non-compliance with fire inspections. Discuss / Approve Renewal of Village Insurance Contract New Contract was reviewed by the board regarding coverage and unanimously approved to be extended for another year. Board Reminders/Updates: Art provided update on funding requests and reviewed ideas to fund replacement of the Village Pavilion as well as increased revenue sharing which we will be receiving next year. Pete gave and update on Benches for new park and the scheduling of maintenance on Plow Truck in October. Motion to adjourn at 8:35 p.m. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. Unanimous.
