Village of Marquette Green Lake County, Wisconsin Regular Meeting Minutes, June 10, 2024 Call to Order The regular meeting of the Village Board, for the Village of Marquette, was called to order by Art Cybul at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call Roll Call: President-Art Cybul-present Clerk-Susan Geraldi-present Trustee-Peter Michalos-present Treasurer- Paula Gilbertson-present Trustee-Tony Deiss-present There were 6 citizens in attendance. Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings Law Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings law: Agenda notice was posted in three public places-Village Hall, kiosks at the Post Office and Truck Garage, also posted on the Village Website. Approve Agenda A motion to approve the amended agenda was made. Michalos/Deiss, Motion passed. (unanimous) Approval of May Minutes and Special Meeting Minutes A motion to approve the amended minutes and special meeting minutes was made. Michalos/Deiss, Motion passed. (unanimous) Reading and Approval of Treasurer’s Report The Treasurer’s report was read. Motion to approve the Treasurer’s report was made. Deiss/Michalos, Motion passed. (unanimous) Approve Payment of Bills Approve payment of Bills: Presented for payment were vouchers 9856-9880 in the amount of $5745.82 plus the $4,500.00 for the maintained balance and utilities for the Grand total of $10,245.82. The Motion to pay the bills as presented and transfer from the appropriate accounts the amount of $9000.00 to the General Fund. The motion to approve the bills, Deiss/Michalos, Motion passed. Citizen Comments - Time Limits Citizen commented whether pickleball is free to anyone outside of Village and why don’t we charge at this time? Village is not charging a fee at this time. Citizen wanted to know how many liquor licenses does the Village have at this time? The answer is 3. Citizen was upset about the lawnmowing and disrespect of Veterans at the Cemetery. The Village acted as quickly as possible to resolve these issues and have hired a new Lawncare Co. Citizen was upset about the Village allowing a park next to the Historical Society and the Village does not own that land and it is not a park. It is a Native Prairie Garden that will have a gazebo for all citizens to enjoy and maintained by the Historical Society not the Village. Citizen was concerned about the boat landing weeds and branches and the Village President will reach out to the DNR, Discuss/Approve Change Resort St. to Lake St, for Village Mapping The President will write up a resolution for the change. The motion to approve the change was made. Michalos/Deiss Motion passed. (unanimous) Approve Liquor, Tobacco and Mobile Home Licenses Class B Beer & Liquor Combination License Pub N’ Prime, Pete C Michalos & Tucked Away LLC Robert G. Hill (Peter Michalos abstained from this vote) Cigarette License Tucked Away LLC, Robert G. Hill Mobile Home Operating License Cahoon’s Resort, Eunice Cahoon Sportsman Resort, Mark Fields & Kathleen Cramer-Fields Operator’s License Kevin Ward Carie Hill Jessica Stelter Rosemary Johnson Rachel Koerner Melissa Schueler Susan Uttendorfer Sarah Theel The motion to approve the licenses was made. Michalos/Deiss Motion passed. (Unanimous) Grand View Cemetery Estimates The motion to approve the estimate of $900.00 and schedule the work end of July was made. Michalos/Deiss Motion passed. (Unanimous) Village Street estimate using Slurry Method The discussion that using the Slurry Method would be a cheaper option for the Village if we could get the Town and other communities to use this option for roads. Village will monitor the success using the method on the Town of Manchester. Board Reminders/Updates Lawn care Update Farmer Kathy has been doing a great job for the Village and maintaining the Cemetery. MOE forms update and Fire Department Inspection The Village Clerk completed filing the MOE forms on June 10, 2024 and will reach out to Kevin Ward to see when the Fire Department Inspections are scheduled.
