Village of Marquette Green Lake County, Wisconsin Regular Meeting Minutes, July 8, 2024 Call to Order The regular meeting of the Village Board, for the Village of Marquette, was called to order by Art Cybul at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call Roll Call: President-Art Cybul-present Clerk-Susan Geraldi-present Trustee-Peter Michalos-present Treasurer- Paula Gilbertson-present Trustee-Tony Deiss-present There were 6 citizens in attendance. Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings Law Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings law: Agenda notice was posted in three public places-Village Hall, kiosks at the Post Office and Truck Garage, also posted on the Village Website. Approve Agenda A motion to approve the amended agenda was made. Michalos/Deiss, Motion passed. (unanimous) Approval of June Minutes A motion to approve the minutes was made. Deiss/Michalos, Motion passed. (unanimous) Reading and Approval of Treasurer’s Report The Treasurer’s report was read. Motion to approve the Treasurer’s report was made. Michalos/Deiss, Motion passed. (unanimous) Approve Payment of Bills Approve payment of Bills: Presented for payment were vouchers 9881-9901 in the amount of $5686.25 plus the $4,500.00 for the maintained balance and utilities for the Grand total of $10,186.28. The Motion to pay the bills as presented and transfer from the appropriate accounts the amount of $8700.00 to the General Fund. The motion to approve the bills, Deiss/Michalos, Motion passed. (unanimous) Citizen Comments - Time Limits Citizen commented on if Village will remove an old TV that has been sitting out for 2 years and take it to the free recycle event in Green Lake County. Tony Deiss will pick it up. Citizen wanted to know if the Village Board or Cemetery Sexton knew where two Civil War Cemetery Stones where located. They agreed to meet at a later date to research. Discuss/Approve The request from Nancy Wallman to vacate Centre St and alley between lots 20-26 and Lots 48-49-50 &53. The board approved to vacate the property and set August 20, 2024 at 6pm for the final resolution to be signed at the public meeting. The motion to approve was made, Michalos/Deiss Motion passed. (unanimous) Revise Hall Rental Agreement The motion was made to require a $250.00 security deposit on all hall rentals. Upon inspection of hall, the check will be returned if there is no damage. Michalos/Deiss, Motion passed. (unanimous) Approve Price increase on signs The motion was made to increase the fee for Village signs to: small sign $100. & large sign $140. Deiss/Michalos, Motion passed. (unanimous) County H agreement The agreement to the 2025 project will cost the Village $75,000, for new curbs on County H within the Village limits. The motion was made to sign the agreement. Deiss/Michalos, Motion passed. (unanimous) Art Cybul will sign the agreement and take it to Derek Mashuda. Board Reminders/Updates Fire Department Inspections are still pending with no commitment from the Fire Department Chief. Art will try to reach out to Joel Strahota to see if he can assist in providing any assistance. Village received a grant and has installed new cameras and smoke detectors for the hall.
