Village of Marquette Green Lake County, Wisconsin Regular Meeting Minutes, April 14, 2025 Call to Order The regular meeting of the Village Board, for the Village of Marquette, was called to order by President Cybul at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call Roll Call: President-Art Cybul-present Clerk-Susan Geraldi-present Trustee-Peter Michalos-present Treasurer- Paula Gilbertson-present Trustee-Tony Deiss-present There were 6 citizens in attendance. Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings Law Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings law: Agenda notice was posted in three public places-Village Hall, kiosks at the Post Office and Truck Garage, also posted on the Village Website. Approve Agenda A motion to approve the agenda was made. Deiss/Michalos Motion passed. (unanimous) Approval of Regular Minutes sent to Board members A motion to approve the Regular minutes with the correction of Polling closing time from the March meeting was made. Michalos/Michalos Motion passed. (Unanimous) Reading and Approval of Treasurer’s Report The Treasurer’s report was read. The motion to approve the Treasurer’s report was made. Michalos/Deiss, Motion passed. (unanimous) Approve Payment of Bills Approve payment of Bills: Presented for payment were vouchers 1075-1099 in the amount of $5985.63 plus the $4500.00 for the maintained balance and utilities for the Grand total of $10,485.63. There will be 1 transfer to the general fund of $9600.00. The board salaries and County Dog Licenses were not made and a special meeting to approve the additional vouchers and transfer of funds were addressed. The motion to approve the bills, Michalos/Deiss, Motion passed. (unanimous) Citizen Comments - Time Limits Citizen was concerned that the Lawn Care Contract would be approved and the Village would be absorbing the insurance increase. The board assured the citizen that the only increase is $75 for labor cost per cut for the Cemetery. A special meeting will be scheduled to have a final vote on this addendum to the approved contract for the Village. Citizen was also concerned that all votes by the board should be read back by the clerk. Citizen was asking about what kind of culverts were being put in the village and if residents would be able to fill on top so that the ground would be more level for mowing. Discuss/Approve: Culvert review for Village The board will meet with residents and Derek Mashuda to decide which type of culverts (solid or with drainage holes) can be put in the Village right of way by their properties. A resident has volunteered labor to put in the foundation for culvert pipe and fill on top of pipe. The type of fill on top of pipe to be determined along with costs to determine when and if it can be done. Permit Fees for Village A discussion among board members if the Permit Fees should be lowered or raised was held. The Village can set and define each fee so it was suggested board member Michalos would reach out to John Lust and see how the Village stands compared to other municipalities with our fees. Set Date for Board of Review Board of Review Meeting to be held on May 12th at 7PM before the normal Monthly Meeting. A motion to approve the date was made. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed (unanimous) April 1st Election Results Board member Peter Michalos won the Trustee seat with 62 votes and 89 registered voters turned out to vote in the Spring Primary. Set Date for Organizational Meeting It was suggested that the board hold the Board of Review Training and Organizational meeting on the same night. Tentative date would be April 29 th.. Approve new website contract The Town Web new contract will be an additional $325. The website will have more bells and whistles and be more user friendly to find information. A motion to approve the contract was made. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed (unanimous) Review animal ordinance from board members The ordinance was condensed and a second draft was passed out to the board for review before the next meeting. It will also be shared with subcommittee members for review and will be posted to website for additional input. Approve asphalt repairs at Hall and Garage The estimate from Green Lake County Highway was $1896.28. The motion to approve the work was made. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed (unanimous) Board Reminders/ Updates Road construction: Derek Mashuda is waiting for a permit from the DNR before any work in the Village can start. . Village Dumpster Dates and Times Saturday, May 17, 2025 Time: 9:00 am-3:00pm; Saturday, May 31, 2025 Time: 9:00 am-3:00pm; Saturday, June 7, 2025 Time: 9:00 am-3:00pm; No pier donations this month due to the high water. Adjourn Motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 p.m. Deiss/Michalos. Motion passed. (unanimous) Peter Michalos was sworn in as Trustee for 2 years by Village Clerk Susan Geraldi
