May 2, 2024 Community Budget Presentation A Community Budget presentation was held at 6:00 pm on May 2, 2024, at the Dalton Idea Center, Patrick & Henry Community College. Mayor Jones, Vice Mayor Rawls, Council Member Lawson, Council Member Pearson, Council Member Mitchell, City Manager Aretha Ferrell- Benavides, Finance Director Mandy McGhee, Assistant Finance Director Crystal Ferguson, and Public Information Officer Kendall Davis were in attendance along with several Martinsville City residents. Budget Workshop—Council Members and staff presented the proposed budget. City Manager Aretha Ferrell-Benavides explained what the city budget is. Mayor Jones explained decision and priority highlights of the past and what to look for in the future. Jones and Vice Mayor Rawls presented the FY2024-25 Operating Budget PowerPoint along with strategic priorities and future plans alongside the City Manager.
