PARKS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
April 06, 2026 at 4:45 PM
1260 North Road Mauston, WI
1. Call to Order/Roll Call: The Board of Parks Commission met on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the
Public Works Building. Chair Mike Taake called the meeting to order at 4:47 p.m. Members present
were Dan Holzberger, Mike Taake, Laura Taake, Amanda Ketcham, and Mary Ann Allaby. Also
present was Parks Superintendent Jordan Wilke. Absent were Todd Galbrecht and Lori Hammer.
2. Minutes: Motion by Ketcham, seconded by Holzberger, to approve the March 9, 2026, minutes.
Motion carried by voice vote.
3. Financial Reports: The March reports were reviewed with no questions or concerns.
4. Staff Report
a. Dog Park at Arlington and Loomis: Wilke reported that fencing bids will be presented to
Council on April 14, 2026. The Board also discussed potential naming of the park.
b. Jones Park: Wilke reported increased usage at Jones Park, with soccer beginning April 14.
Updates included parking arrangements, installation of portable restrooms, and continued
discussion of naming the space.
c. Other Updates: Wilke reported progress on the Parks & Recreation Comprehensive Plan,
hiring of summer staff, and upcoming projects, including installation of the Sterling Walsh
memorial hitting wall and seasonal placement of pickleball nets. Additional discussion included
windscreen adjustments and the July 4 youth baseball tournament.
5. Adjourn: Motion by Holzberger, seconded by Allaby, to adjourn. Motion carried by voice vote.
Meeting adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
