TREE BOARD MEETING MINUTES April 09, 2025 at 3:45 PM 1260 North Road Mauston, WI 1. Call to Order/Roll Call 2. Minutes: Motion by Nelson, seconded by Miller to approve the minutes of April 8, 2024. Motion carried. 3. Arbor Day: Willke announced that Mauston will be commemorating Arbor Day 2025 on April 24, 2025. This will allow for Mauston High School students and FFA, under the tutelage of Beth Babcock, to attend. Jordan will let all necessary media in on the facts. The Proclamation read at 10:30 AM at Veterans Memorial Park. The morning classes will plant trees at the Juneau County Veterans Memorial Park and the afternoon classes will be planting trees at various locations around the city. 4. Coordinating High School Classes: Wilke and Babcock agreed to coordinate tree plantings during Fall of 2025 as Ms. Babcock’s class schedule aligns with tree availability and locations. 5. Emerald Ash Borer update: Wilke continues to monitor the condition of ash trees within the city. He continues to treat both residential and public trees. Nelson reminded the board that this is a treatment not a cure. Wilke has been treating Emerald Ash Borer since 2017. 6. Adjourn Motion by Taake, seconded by Miller to adjourn. Motion carried at 4:05 p.m.
