MAYFIELD BOROUGH COUNCIL Wednesday, February 14, 2024 AGENDA PAGE 1 OF 2 Call to Order at 7:00p.m. by President Diana Campbell followed by Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: Diana Campbell, Wendy Bochnovich, Mary Rosler, Bridget Boettcher, Jennifer Rossi, Tiffany Casey, Tom Hartman. Introduction of Ms. Lisa Burns, Local Policy Specialist with DCED, who will offer services to the borough. Public Input Administration – Diana Campbell Motion to approve the minutes of January 13, 2024. Motion to accept the Treasurer’s report for January, 2024. Motion to pay all bills listed in packet and all others mentioned. Motion to send letter of intent to DCED to provide necessary training in computer use and filing. Motion to approve current job descriptions. Streets & Public Works – Tom Hartman Third load of salt delivered. Motion to apply for a Community Reinvest Grant for $5,000.00 to purchase a trailer. Buildings & Parks – Jennifer Rossi Update on grants. Discussion on recycling event. Athletic Complex and Playgrounds – Mary Rosler Mary Rosler informed council the county is forwarding a check for $1,000.00 to cover both the 2023 and 2024 Arts & Culture Grant for the Concerts in the Park. Mary submitted a copy of the $5,000.00 cancelled check the borough paid for the mulch at the playground and is waiting for reimbursement from the state. Public Safety – Bridget Boettcher and Tiffany Casey Fire Chief’s report – in packet. Planning Commission report -Mayor Chelik Motion to approve the Walker Hose Co. to conduct a Potato Pancake Sale February 16 also their pizza sales during Lent, the Whitmore Hose Co Roast Beef Dinner March 10, Mayfield Hose Co. March 3 Cash Bingo. Flood Control – Wendy Bochnovich Update on grants. Motion for a resolution to apply for a Flood Mitigation Grant for $258,637 to supplement the $2.3milion levee grant. (Resolution# 2023 - ________) Motion to apply to DEP for a grant for video inspection of the levee pipes. Mayor’s Report – Mayor Alexander J. Chelik Police report for January, 2024 – in packet. Act 32 Report – Mayor Chelik Solicitor’s Report – Atty. Owen M. Coleman Old Business Update on AML Grant. New Business Motion to apply for membership in the Keystone Emergency Management Association for Jim Perry, our Emergency Management Coordinator as required by the new Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency certification requirements, at a cost of $30. Public Input Motion to adjourn.
