CITY OF MCKEESPORT REGULAR MEETING WEDNESDAY 7:00 P.M. JUNE 2, 2021 The regular meeting of Council was called to order on the above- stated date at the above-stated time after the Pledge of Allegiance and a Moment of Silence in memory of Bradley Soles and Frank Maglicco by President Dellapenna. President Dellapenna called for roll call by Secretary James. The following Members of Council were present: RC-1 PRESENT: LUETHEL NESBIT, JILL LAPE, JIM BARRY, BRIAN EVANS, RICHARD DELLAPENNA, KEITH SOLES ABSENT: TIMOTHY BROWN (Mayor Cherepko said tonight is Graduation and Mr. Brown is High School Principal) APPROVAL OF MINUTES: President Dellapenna asked for a Motion to Approve the Minutes of the regular meeting of May 5, 2021. MOTION: Mrs. Nesbit moved, seconded by Mr. Barry, “to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 5, 2021.” RC-2 YEAS: NESBIT, LAPE, BARRY, EVANS, DELLAPENNA, SOLES (6) NAYS: NONE (0) COMMUNICATIONS: Secretary James reported that we received the report from the Fire Department for the month of May 2021. MAYOR’S REPORT: President Dellapenna said the Mayor already gave his report. Mayor Cherepko said you are not going to even offer? [1] Mayor Cherepko said actually, Mr. President, yes, I have no Report this evening, I gave it in the Work Session. President Dellapenna said thank you sir. CITIZENS IN THE AUDIENCE: President Dellapenna said we have no Citizens in the Audience to speak so we will go right into New Business. NEW BUSINESS: RESOLUTION NO. 2021-20- Bill #32 - Introduced by Jim Barry – A Resolution of the City of McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Authorizing the Proper City Officers to Execute All Documents Necessary to Enter Into a Managed Services Subscription Agreement with AEC Group, LLC for the Phone System. MOTION: Mr. Evans moved, seconded by Mrs. Nesbit “to approve Bill #32.” President Dellapenna asked for questions or comments and there were none. RC-3 YEAS: NESBIT, LAPE, BARRY, EVANS, DELLAPENNA, SOLES (6) NAYS: NONE (0) ORDINANCE NO. 21-13- Bill #33 - Introduced by Jill Lape – An Ordinance of the City of McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Amending and Supplementing Ordinance #1835 of the City of McKeesport Approved January 7, 1949, and as Amended by Ordinance From Time to Time Relative to the Establishment and Maintenance of City Employees Pension, Annuity, Insurance and Benefit Fund or Funds, to Amend Certain Provisions of the Pension Plan or Program Applicable to Certain Employees of Said City, and to Amend the Survivor Benefit of Such Pension Plan or Program. MOTION: Mr. Barry moved, seconded by Mr. Soles “to approve Bill #33.” [2] President Dellapenna asked for questions or comments and there were none. RC-4 YEAS: NESBIT, LAPE, BARRY, EVANS, DELLAPENNA, SOLES (6) NAYS: NONE (0) RESOLUTION NO. 2021-21- Bill #34 - Introduced by Brian Evans – A Resolution of the City of McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Awarding the Bid for Demolition/Clearance to Minniefield Demolition Services, LLC, and Authorizing the Proper City Officials to Execute All Documents Necessary to Enter Into An Agreement with Minniefield Demolition Services, LLC, for an Amount Not to Exceed $219,850. MOTION: Mr. Barry moved, seconded by Mrs. Lape “to approve Bill #34.” President Dellapenna asked for questions or comments and Mayor Cherepko said, if I just may add, that is all the asbestos surveys and everything included in that price. President Dellapenna said thank you Mayor. RC-5 YEAS: NESBIT, LAPE, BARRY, EVANS, DELLAPENNA, SOLES (6) NAYS: NONE (0) ORDINANCE NO. 21-14 - Bill #35 - Introduced by Jim Barry – An Ordinance of the City of McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Amending and Supplementing Ordinance #87-22 of the City of McKeesport, Approved September 24, 1987 and as Amended by Ordinance from Time to Time Relative to the Establishment and Maintenance of the City Employees’ Pension, Annuity, Insurance and Benefit Fund or Funds, to Amend Certain Provisions of the Pension Plan or Program Applicable to Certain Employees of said City, and to Amend the Survivor Benefit of Such Pension Plan or Program. [3] MOTION: Mrs. Nesbit moved, seconded by Mr. Evans “to approve Bill #35.” President Dellapenna asked for questions or comments and there were none. RC-6 YEAS: NESBIT, LAPE, BARRY, EVANS, DELLAPENNA, SOLES (6) NAYS: NONE (0) ADJOURNMENT: Mayor Cherepko said, if I may Mr. President, a month ago or two months ago, I can’t remember, Rich Lord was one of the reporters that signed into speak. He is actually in the audience today, just cause he wanted to have the opportunity to just say hello like we did on the phone. So, he’s here with us today working on a story with some of the housing. His focus is really the Midtown and Highview right now. So, we are hoping through his work to help remedy some of the issues we are having with those two properties in particular. President Dellapenna said thank you Mr. Mayor. That concludes the Council meeting for tonight. Thank you.
