OFFICIAL COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin, was held in open
session on March 7th, 2022, and called to order by Council President Solberg at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council
Chambers. The following members were present: Chase, Traxler, Sutherland, Beech, McCullough, Schwebs,
Merrill, Solberg, Schlough, Erdman, and Sommerfeld.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION – Council President Solberg recognized Padraig Gallager of Stepping Stones of Dunn
County for the $1.4 million in funding received from the state towards emergency support of homeless
persons in our community.
MOTION was made by Beech, seconded by Erdman, and carried to approve the minutes of the February 21st, 2022
council meeting.
PUBLIC HEARING – None
PUBLIC COMMENTS – Padraig Gallager stated that Stepping Stones of Dunn County has received funding to build a
permanent cooler on its property and the temporary trailer storage that has been granted by Council will not
be needed for much longer, but would still like to seek council’s approval of the trailer storage extension,
agenda item 6.E.
MOTION was made by Schlough, seconded by Schwebs, and carried unanimously to confirm Michell Stai as the City
of Menomonie Recreation Manager.
MOTION was made by McCullough, seconded by Merrill, and carried unanimously on a roll call vote to award the
2022 sewer truck utility bid to Northtown Ford for $34,000.
MOTION was made by Schwebs, seconded by Solberg, and carried unanimously to approve the 2021 MS4 Annual
Stormwater Report as presented.
MOTION was made by Erdman, seconded by Chase, and carried unanimously to approve the Greater Menomonie
Area Chamber of Commerce’s fireworks over Lake Menomon special event request, contingent on the
renewal of the Chamber of Commerce’s liability insurance which expires on 07/01/2022.
MOTION made by Erdman, seconded by Chase, and carried unanimously to approve the temporary trailer storage
extension for Stepping Stones of Dunn County, Inc. at 1602 Stout Road for another 90 days through May
2022.
MOTION made by McCullough, seconded by Schlough, and carried unanimously to approve the Mayor’s
recommendation for reappointments to the Plan Commission as presented.
BUDGET TRANSFERS – None.
MAYOR’S REPORT – No report in the Mayor’s absence.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS – Randy Eide informed the council that the city
experienced a water main break in the Industrial Park that was promptly identified and controlled.
CLAIMS - MOTION was made by McCullough, seconded by Merrill, and carried unanimously on roll call vote to
approve payment of the following claims:
