OFFICIAL COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin, was held in open
session on April 4, 2022, and called to order by Mayor Knaack at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
The following members were present: Sutherland, McCullough, Schlough, Sommerfeld in person and Traxler,
Beach, Schwebs, Merrill, Solberg and Erdman via zoom. Chase was absent.

PUBLIC HEARING – none
PUBLIC COMMENTS – Anita Keeler requested Council support of the Ludington Guard Band events planned for
Wilson Park in 2022. Dustin Dubuque requested Council approval of the Downtown Menomonie, Inc. 2022
event requests.
MOTION was made by Schwebs, seconded by Beach, and carried to approve all the 2022 Special Event requests as
presented.
MOTION was made by McCullough, seconded by Sommerfeld and carried to approve the Memorandum of
Understanding with IAFF Local 1697 regarding lateral transfers and residency requirements through
December 31, 2022 or until a successor contract is approved.
MOTION was made by Schwebs, seconded by Merrill, and carried to approve the Urban Search and Rescue
Emergency Response Agreement with the State of Wisconsin/Division of Military Affairs as presented.
MOTION was made by Erdman, seconded by Solberg, and carried to approve a $7,500 contract with Water
Technology, Inc. to evaluate and report on the Wakanda Waterpark mechanical and pool vessel conditions.
MOTION was made by Solberg, seconded by McCullough and carried unanimously to approve the Mayor’s
recommended appoints as follows:
Police/Fire Commission – Ron Sandfort – term expires April 2027
Tourism Commission – Grady Richartz and Nick Rodolosi – term expires April 2023
Airport Commission – Dan Johnson – term expires June 2027
Kerry McCauley – term expires June 2028
BUDGET TRANSFERS – Motion by McCullough, second by Solberg and carried unanimously to approve the Water
Utility Budget $3,500 transfer from 61.65200.476 to 61.65200.226 to purchase a replacement air compressor
at Well #4.
MAYOR’S REPORT – Mayor Knaack reminded everyone to vote on April 5th and the citywide spring pickup beginning
later in April. Hines updated the Council on a possible agreement for a joint Clean Sweep program with
surrounding towns in 2023.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS - none
CLAIMS - MOTION was made by Solberg, seconded by McCullough, and carried unanimously on roll call vote to
approve payment of the following claims:
