OFFICIAL COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin, was held in open
session on May 2, 2022, and called to order by Mayor Knaack at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
The following members were present: Chase, Burstad, McCullough, Schwebs, Yonko, Solberg, Schlough,
Erdman, Sommerfeld. Sutherland and Merrill were absent.
MOTION was made by Erdman, seconded by Burstad, and carried to approve the minutes of the April 18, 2022
council meeting.
PUBLIC HEARING – None
PUBLIC COMMENTS – None
ORDINANCE to annex Lindstrom Alliance, LLC (E6091 578th Ave, Town of Red Cedar) and establishing a temporary
Local Commercial District (B-2) zoning was INTRODUCED by Schwebs. MOTION was made by Erdman,
seconded by Solberg, and carried to waive the first reading. MOTION was made by Yonko, seconded by
Burstad, and carried to waive the second reading. MOTION was made by Schwebs, seconded by Solberg,
and carried unanimously to adopt the ordinance.
MOTION was made by Erdman, seconded by McCullough to waive the rules to allow Bob Schultz and Cory Scheidler
to present a development agreement with the Greater Menomonie Development Corporation (GMDC) for the
phase III virtual spec building digital tool.
MOTION was made by Schlough, seconded by Sommerfeld and carried unanimously to approve the development
agreement with the GMDC for a Phase III Virtual Spec Building Development Tool as presented.
MOTION was made by Chase, seconded by McCullough, and carried unanimously to approve the letter of intent with
Foundations Therapy, LLC for rental space on third floor of City Hall.
MOTION was made by Erdman, seconded by Yonko, and carried unanimously to approve the Street Light/Lamp
Replacement Grant application as presented.
MOTION was made by Chase, seconded by McCullough and carried unanimously to approve the Mayor’s
recommendation that Tim Dotseth and Melissa Kneeland be reappointed as a members of the Historic
Preservation Commission for a term ending on April 30th, 2025, Jessica Sather and Jon Krupke be appointed
as members of the Tourism Commission for a term ending April 30th, 2023 and Shirley Riedmann be
appointed as a member of the Housing Authority for a term ending October 2026.
BUDGET TRANSFERS – None.
MAYOR’S REPORT – Mayor Knaack thanked the sponsors, Recreation Department staff and Julie Stratton for
organizing the Thrill Seekers Prom that was held at the Stout Craft Co. Fishing opener is Saturday, May 7 th.
Lakeside dock project is scheduled to start in June/July of 2022.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS – Prange reminded everyone that there will be one
additional spring lawn debris pick up scheduled. Friday, May 6th there is a tree/bench commemoration at 1:30
in Wilson Park in honor of Nancy Schofield. The Parking Utility lot permit schedule with updated rates and
processes was distributed for Council reference.
CLAIMS - MOTION was made by Solberg, seconded by McCullough, and carried unanimously on roll call vote to
approve payment of the following claims:

June 3, June 10 and July 22-24, 2022.
MOTION to adjourn was made by McCullough, seconded by Burstad, and carried unanimously.
