City of Menomonie Police and Fire Commission Meeting Minutes October 27, 2022 Call to Order The meeting was called to Order at 9:08 a.m. by commission president Ron Sandfort. Roll Call Commissioners Spielman, Ley, Sandfort, Miller and Sweeny were present. Also present was Chief Denny Klass. Approval of Minutes The September 29, 2022 minutes were reviewed. Spielman noted he was not in attendance. The recording commissioner was Sweeny. With this correction and addition, a motion was made by Ley, seconded by Sweeny to approve September 29 minutes. Motion carried. Public Comments - None Old Business - None New Business Interviewing Fire Department applicants for promotion to Lieutenant postion. Closed Session Motion to go into closed session by Ley, seconded by Spielman. Motion carried. Motion to go out of closed session by Ley, and seconded by Spielman. Motion carried. Miller moved to direct Chief Klass to promote Kissh to the Lieutenant position. Further, an eligibility list is to be created to include Nessel and McCulloch, in that priority order. Seconded by Ley. Motion carried. President Sandfort noted his two months away from Menomonie will begin December 22, 2022. Agreement was reached to assign Ley to the Interim President position, effective in the absence of Sandfort. Motion to adjourn by Ley, seconded by Miller. Motion carried.
