Noblewins.com - Staff shared a website Nobilewins.com, that they take recycled wind
turbines and repurpose them into beautiful benches that can be works of art.
Discussion followed about possible uses and the idea of Merriam bus stops a project
possibly with the City.
Monument Sign - Staff shared an idea of a "Merriam" monument sign on I35.
Discussion followed about the logistics and having to work with KDOT and what that
process would look like. Not a committee priority at this time. The committee is still very
interested in an art project in the Southpark area, and the committee would like to invite
some residents of that neighborhood to brainstorm some ideas for a project.
Smothers Retirement - Assistant Director Smothers announced that he will be retiring
from the City of Merriam after 23 years of service and the February meeting will be his
last meeting. Director Slocum will be taking over as City liaison.
