Village Board Meeting Minutes December 12, 2024 1219
The Village Board met at the Merrillan Village Hall December 12, 2024 at 6:30p.m. in person and via
Google meet. In person were President Chris Wruck, Heather Sprinkle, Jordan Powell, Clerk Penny
Danielson, Ken Hardwood, Jon Bingol, and Bill Laurant, Sgt Edington.
Via Google meet-Jane Fehrman, Sally Madsen, Cindy Altman, Dan Knoeck MSA
1. President Wruck Called to order at 6:31 p.m.
2. President Wruck Certified open meeting law requirements were met.
3. Roll Call was taken by President Wruck

a. MSA Project updates – Dan gave an update.
b. Abandoned/Dilapidated Buildings –table
6. Fire District and Billing- Jordan gave updates

8. Maintenance Report was submitted
9. Vouchers- were reviewed and signed
10. Delinquent List-was reviewed
11. Approval of All Minutes- Moved by Sprinkle 2nd By Powell. Carried

14. Approval of Cemetery Report - Moved by Sprinkle 2nd By Fehrman. Carried

17. Broadband updates/letter of support- Cindy gave updates this will affect approx. 5 or 6 households on
the outskirts of Merrillan. Moved by Powell, seconded by Sprinkle to endorse the letter of support for

the BEAD funding and make a cash match of $100.00 for the project. Carried
18. Hydro Repair Quote-Still looking into funding.
New Business- Discussion and/ or action
19. 2025 Budget Approval Moved by Wruck 2nd By Powell. Carried
20. Technology Upgrades Quote- Moved by Madsen2nd by Powell to approve $5854.94 for computer
upgrades-Roll Call Fehrman, Sprinkle, Powell, Madsen. All Yes, Wruck Abstained. Carried
21. Law Enforcement Coverage- Table
22. Set Caucus Date will be Jan 9, 2025 at 6:15p.m.
23. Village President-Nice neighbor award-Moved by Powell, seconded by Madsen to approve nomination
for Deputy Chris Eversum for the Nice Neighbor award. Carried
24. Meeting Adjournment Moved by Powell, Seconded by Sprinkle to adjourn at 7:12 p.m. Carried
