Michigan Blvd. Michigan City, IN 46360 219-873-1570 Michigan City Police Civil Service Commission Meeting Minutes: September 9, 2015 Commissioner Pliske called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. A quorum was noted with Commissioners John Pliske and Mike Buda were in attendance. Commissioner Dennis Pickens was absent. Also present was Assistant Police Chief Tim Richardson, Councilwoman Pat Boy and Commission Attorney Jennifer Koethe. Commissioner Pliske made a motion to accept the minutes from the August 12, 2015 regular meeting and executive session meeting. Commissioner Buda 2nd. Ayes 2 Nays 0; Motion Carries. Probationary Officer Report- The three are at the academy now, they are doing well. They passed the Criminal Law portion of the academy which is good news. New Business- Commissioner Buda announced the Brian Richmond resigned as of August 28, 2015. Commission Attorney Jennifer Koethe- None Report from City Council Pat Boy- None Commission Comments- Commissioner Buda asked if with the 4 scheduled to meet with PERF and one in background now that would bring the number to 5. Will the department be at full staff then? Assistant Police Chief Tim Richardson stated they would be unless someone resigns or retires. Commissioner Buda made a motion to adjourn and Commissioner Pliske 2nd. 2 Ayes 0 Nays; Motion Carries. Next meeting will be Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
