Call to Order – At 9:10 AM Charlotte McCoid called the meeting to order 2. Public session – None 3. Palmer Field Sculpture Project Potential sculptors were discussed and a list drawn up. Research will continue. The Committee feels strongly that full figures, almost life size, should be pursued. (Julia Faraci arrives 9:40.) The RFP was discussed with reference to a suggested template by Americans for the Arts. An RFP was drafted for the PAC Committee to review and modify. Besides the usual City outlets, the RFP should be forwarded by the Committee to artists, to Connecticut sculptors, to the Connecticut Office of the Arts for distribution and circulation. On September 5th, the Information will be presented at a meeting arranged by the Director of Public Works and Tina Gomes to be attended by Charlotte and Joyce. Joyce reports that Tamara Dimitri emailed an apology for the summer’s silence and promised to get back to the committee with the requested information. It should be coming soon. 4. City Art Collection – more discussion needed Placement of new and restored works Lighting of Public Art Collection needs to be improved Plaques – need to be updated and/or replaced 5. Wasicki paintings –an appreciation event – Tabled 6. Other – Works of art and other documents now in the Arts Office should be examined.
