Motion by Aaron Roome. 2nd by Anthony Mangiafico. Approved. Public Hearing for Agenda Items:  None Directors Report:  Director of Health o Kevin Elak provided an update regarding the decrease in Covid-19 cases in Middletown and statewide. He discussed the state will be ending their mask mandate for schools on Feb. 28 and would like to speak with the board members more about this in new business. He also mentioned he would like to discuss the opioid task force in new  business. Kevin stated the health educator position was posted and applications for this would be accepted until February 25, 2022.  Division Report o Jennifer Sparks provided an update on environmental health, housing and emergency preparedness activities. Old Business: none New Business: Kevin discussed the greater Middletown opioid task force. He presented a power point on opioid addiction in the Middlesex community and data regarding fatal and non- fatal overdoses. Kevin and Reverend Robyn Anderson spoke about the tasks force’s mission, building community partnership and harm reduction in the Middlesex Community. The other topic discussed under new business was Governor Lamont’s mask mandate in schools. This mandate will be lifted on February 28th and will be left up to local government to decide their own mask mandates. Aaron Roome, Robyn Anderson, Anthony Mangiafico, and Linda Salifia had discussions on the topic and expressed their feelings and concerns regarding the matter.
