CITY OF MIDDLETOWN CITIZENS’ ADVISORY COMMITTEE Minutes - August 21, 2019 Members Present: Members Absent: Staff Member: R. Pelletier, Chairman S. Owens Lynda MacPherson M. Salafia R. Bantum D. Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Pelletier. B. Public Comment –Ms. Gauthier stated that she is attending to view the committee meeting. Mr. Wright explained the need for extending the MXCC Magic Food Bus Program and to ask for approval from the committee. C. Approval of Minutes –On motion of D. Kleckowski, seconded by M. Salafia, the minutes for the meeting held on April 30, 2019 were unanimously approved with one abstention from Grady Faulkner. D. Approval of extensions for 2018 Grants for Russell Library Career Program and MXCC Magic Food Bus - It was unanimously approved to extend both programs until August 31, 2019. E. Discussion on vacant seats – Ms. MacPherson stated that there are three vacant seats on the committee. In addition, there are several members with expired terms. A brief discussion was held and it was decided that Mr. Pelletier should send letters to the five members with expired terms asking them to notify him whether or not they want to remain active on the committee. Other discussions included grantees and timeliness of spending. F. Other: - Ms. MacPherson updated the committee on initial steps being started for the 5 Year Consolidated Plan which is due next year. Discussion was held on the importance of including information in the 5 Year Plan that will be supported in each of the Annual Action Plans falling within the 5 Years. G.
