RUSSELL LIBRARY A great place to be. Policy Committee Meeting Russell Library Hubbard Room , Tuesday, March 20, 2018 Present: Trustees Berlind, Markot (ex officio), Wisneski; Interim CEO and Library Director Doyle; Director of Youth and Family Learning and Interin Assistant Director Billingsley. 1. Call to order: The meeting began at 5:05 p.in. with an informal discussion of the changes to the Circulation and Payroll Procedures Policies in the absence of chair Wisneski. 2. Public session/Comment: There were no comments from the public. 3. Old Business: Upon the arrival of Trustee wisneski, Interim cEo and Library Director Doyle outlined the proposed changes in the two poHcies, stating that in some cases the changes reflected current practices (as in the rollover time procedures) or a change already approved by the hoard (fine-free youth library cards). A new policy provides fine free cards for institutions such as schools and for teachers. It was also proposed to allow Middletown Schools teachers who live out of town to take out a fine-free card. A student ID card was added to the list of approved forms of identification for obtaining a library card. New procedures for filling out time cards were proposed to make them unifom and legible. The method for computing tine worked on snow days or early closing days has been clarified. It was moved (Trustee Markot) and seconded (Trustee Berlind) to recommend to the full board that these policy changes be approved. The motion passed unaninously.
