TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE Draft Minutes Meeting of September 3, 2020 Present: Joe Samolis, Brian Robillard, Lauren Middleton, Councilman Anthony Mangiafico, Councilman Tony Gennaro, Karen Warren, Councilman Grady Faulkner, Bryan Skowera, Michael Skott (arrived late) Absent: Roger Palmer, Foster Charles Call to Order: Councilman Tony Gennaro calls the meeting to order at 6:05pm Approval of Minutes Councilman Anthony Mangiafico makes a motion to approve the meeting minutes. Councilman Grady Faulkner seconded the motion. The motion passes unanimously. Public Comments No one from the public was in attendance. Old Business SeeClickFix Bryan Skowera demonstrated the program to the committee by walking through the steps on how to report a problem. Testing of the program will begin October 1 st. November is when the program will officially launch. Flagging External Emails Bryan informed the committee that this has been implemented since the last committee meeting. New Business Project Updates Bryan provided updates on the following projects: Wireless Upgrade - This is mostly completed. Telephone Refresh – Replaced all obsolete telephones in the city. Box – A government file sharing program acquired by the city so that large computer files could be moved more easily. Exchange 2019 – Email system that’s being upgraded from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2019. This project should be completed by March or April 2021. S2 Physical Security – Badge replacement system that updates and centralizes the system that should be completed within the next month. Mutual Aid Proposals Bryan discussed a proposal he brought up to the State of Connecticut that would seek to help communities to address cyber incidences in a voluntary capacity. Election Needs There will be two Election Day registration sites: City Hall and Wesleyan University. Failover Processes and Redundancy P a g e | 1 of 2 Bryan reviewed the City’s failover capabilities in the event of internet outages. Discussion for Items to be Placed on the Next Agenda - Election Update - Updates on Projects Pending - SeeClickFix - Schools – Remote Classes Adjournment Councilman Grady Faulkner makes a motion to adjourn.
