Village of Millbrook Climate Smart Community Meeting Minutes December 12, 2025 Members present: Mike Herzog, Eldar Shuminov, Genevieve Glasson, Shannon Mawson, Shannon LaDeau, Julia Bucklin, Peter Groffman 1. Discussion of Pledge Elements The CSC approved a motion to have members work on the following Pledge Elements: Julia Bucklin- Climate Change Education and Engagement Mike Herzog- Recycling Bins in Municipal buildings Shannon Mawson- Interior Lighting In Municipal Buildings Eldar Shuminov- Safe School Streets, Riparian Buffers Shannon LaDeau- Climate Action Plan 2. Participation With Cornell Cooperative Extension In 2026 The CSC approved a motion to work with Cornell Cooperative Extension and Representative Scott Kleinberg. Together, the Millbrook CSC and Scott will work to pursue Pledge Elements and participate with workshops that educate and inform the Millbrook Community. 3. Participation with TOW CSC and Village of Millbrook CSC The Village of Millbrook committee approved a motion to work with the TOW on Pledge Elements “Source Water Protection” and “Heat Emergency Plan”. An information framework for creating a Source Water Protection Program can be established with the help of NYSDEC, Dutchess County, and the National Weather Service. These entities will be using the Storm Ready Community Program. Genevieve Glasson will continue to work with Partners for Climate Action. 4. Time and Dates for Future Meetings No specific dates were set for 2026 but preferred meeting days were named as Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 PM 5.
