Pereira announced that there will be a Public Hearing on the proposed budget on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 6:30 PM. Resolution No. 090-25 Resolved to authorize Change Order No. 5 to the Installation Contract for Well #1 Phase 1 – 1,4 Dioxane, PFOA & PFOS Treatment Project to repair all surfaces of the clear well to stop water penetration through the clear well ceiling. Contractor: Philip Ross Industries, Inc. Total Cost: $100,800.00 Funding Source: Contract Allowance Nos. 8 and 9 resulting in no change in the overall Contract amount Motioned by Trustee Paul S. Work days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a starting salary of $18.00 per hour in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. O’Keefe presented a report on permits issued in March 2025, discussed the construction at 109 Front Street, reminded residents that new HVAC units require building and electrical permits, and encouraged residents to check their smoke/carbon monoxide detectors as they only have a 10 year lifespan. Pereira announced that the Mineola Athletic Association’s opening day parade is scheduled for Saturday, April 5 with a rain date of Saturday, April 12, announced that the Long Island Portuguese Lions Club’s Palm Sunday breakfast will be held at the Portuguese Heritage Society on Sunday, April 13 from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, and congratulated the Portuguese folklore dancing group for celebrating their 40 year anniversary. Mayor Pereira added that he attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for LI Wrap Pros, discussed the new tele- phone poles which have been going up on Jericho Turnpike, reported that he will be meeting with railroad representatives to discuss the condition of their property at Willis Avenue and Second Street, and discussed the temporary storage of trucks at the Western Beef property. Deputy Mayor Janine Sartori reported that the Mineola Boulevard bridge is being resurfaced and stated that she hopes to see residents at the MAA opening day parade. Trustee Paul S. Cusato discussed the MAA opening day parade and encouraged residents to go to the Palm Sunday breakfast. Trustee Donna M. Solosky stated that she hopes to see residents at the MAA opening day parade.
