Motion carried, all voting aye (6-0). UPDATE AND DISCUSSION ON FIRE STATION FEASIBILITY STUDY. Administrator Honer stated that the city is trying to learn more about the use of the existing fire station in order to look at the possibility of utilizing the existing structure. Devin Flanigan stated that the solution Keller came up with was driven by digging into the needs of the department, looking long-term, which lead to the size of the facility and looking further down the road. Flanigan is looking for some guidance on cost and involvement in meetings. Administrator Honer stated if the proposed cost was $4M-$5M, the city would still be looking to get a grant to cover 50% of the cost. Mayor Clark believes the plan handed out tonight has great options. Bryan Marr states that this drawing does not fit the current needs of the fire station. He stated the garage door height is not feasible for the ladder truck the Fire Department currently has. This drawing does not address garage door height. The committee discussed current and future needs, along with options that could potentially be done to make the existing building what it needs to be. They discussed finding out what is in the vacant lot to the west of the current fire station. He would like to determine if this land is usable for this space and for an addition. Honer will reach out to Delta 3 regarding getting core sampling on the vacant lot as the next step.
