The Airport Director stated the FAA Certification for the airport is July 22-24 and indicated there is an article in Prairie
Business Magazine about the new airport terminal. He explained the decision was made to remove the Common Use
Request for Proposals as it will provide more flexibility from an operational standpoint. The project was getting too
costly and it will save the carriers extra costs. He also provided an updated systems plan for North Dakota.
Mike Mahoney, a representative from KLJ presented their updates:
Taxiway D now has signs placed. The SRE building report closeout was submitted on February 11, 2015. The new
terminal is 79% complete. Apron phases 1 and 2 have the econocrete 90% complete. Apron phases 3 and 4 are starting
to pour econocrete. The parking lot phase 1 will have all work completed by July 3rd. The access road phase 2,
reconstruction of 3rd St. started on June 22nd. The new terminal will be starting some internal installations such as
escalators. Terminal change orders are currently 2.92% over the bid amount. Runway 8/26 Environmental Assessment
is awaiting the finding of no significant impact by FAA. The wildlife hazard assessment will have its 11th month survey
in July. The Master Plan has been approved and is awaiting the execution of the contract. Runway 13/31 has the joint
replacements complete and painting will begin July 13th.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:56 p.m.
