Renaissance Zone Review Board Minutes of Meeting on October 22, 2013 Public Works Building Members of the committee present: Brandyn Hendrickson, Kerry Candrian, Denise Lindbo, Bruce Walker, Pete Hugret Members absent: Barry Clute, Betty Fedorchak, Terri Aldrich, Chad Vogel Others present: Aaron Rosenthal, Amy Fox, Donna Bye, and Sue Nilson The meeting began at 10:05 a.m. Prior to the meeting, the Board had a final walkthrough of the property of Terry & Linda Mock at 618 2nd Ave NE (M-67) and the property of Todd Mock at 620 2nd Ave NE (M- 68). Pete Hugret made a motion to grant final approval of both projects numbered M-67 & M-68 for a five-year 100% property tax exception and five-year personal state income tax exception. The motion was seconded by Brandyn Hendrickson, motion carried unanimously. Aaron Rosenthal spoke to the Board regarding his project at 706 3rd ST NW (M-75). Mr. Rosenthal is building a two unit townhouse on the property. It will consist of two 3 bedroom/3 bath units that will be 1400 square feet each. This is a property that previously had a home on it that was damaged with the secondary dike from the 2011 flood. Donna Bye told Mr. Rosenthal that when it comes time to rent these units, the City Ordinance only allows 4 unrelated people to live in a unit. Brandon Hendrickson made a motion to grant conditional approval of 100% property tax exemption, including improvements, but not land and a 5 year business investment income tax exemption. The motion was seconded by Denise Lindbo. Motion carried unanimously. Approval of the minutes was conditionally approved pending review as they were not included in the packet. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 a.m.
