IMPORTANT NOTICE: Pursuant to California Government Code section 54953(e)(1)(A) and
(C) and the Monterey City Council’s resolution authorizing virtual participation in public
meetings given the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings of the Monterey City Council and its
Boards, Commissions, and Committees are being conducted with a hybrid format providing
both in-person and virtual (electronic) participation in order to promote social distancing and
protect the health and safety of attendees.

Board of Trustees can consider only matters covered in the agenda descriptions. Closed
session items will be heard at the end of the regular Library Board meeting.

54957(b)(1) - Prospective Library Director Candidate(s) - Interviews (Not a Project
under CEQA per Article 20, Section 15378 and Under General Rule Article 19,
Section 15061)

“The Board of Monterey Public Library Trustees provides stewardship for Monterey
Public Library assets and services on behalf of all residents, ensures adaptability to a
diverse population, changing environment and advancing technology. Trustees advise
the City Council on matters pertaining to the Library, and advocate on the Library’s
behalf, while ensuring an ongoing flow of information between the Library, the community
and the City Council, in accordance with Section 7.1 of the Monterey City Charter and in
support of the mission statement of the Monterey Public Library.”
