FIELD TRIP
The Museums & Cultural Arts Commission will conduct a field trip on Friday, August 4,
2023, to review the proposed Pearl District Path of History walk drafted by consultants
Page & Turnbull, which will be reviewed at the Thursday, August 3, 2023 Museums &
Cultural Arts Commission meeting. Departure time and meeting locations are included on
this agenda. No public transportation is provided. For more information, call (831) 646-

1. Pearl District Path of History Draft Plan: Information only and no action is
requested. Meet with consultants Page & Turnbull to review the draft Pearl District
Path of History, including reviewing the following proposed locations in Monterey,
California:
a. Intersection of East Franklin Street and Washington Street, nearest to 409
Washington Street (10:00 am)
b. Japanese American Citizens League Hall, 424 Adams Street (approximately
10:10 am)
c. Jacks Park, 451 Adams Street (approximately 10:13 am)
d. “Watanabe House,” 503 Pearl Street (approximately 10:18 am)
e. “Sunrise Market,” 590 Pearl Street (approximately 10:22 am)
f. Filipino Hall/”African American USO Building,” 629 Pearl Street (approximately
10:24 am)
g. El Estero Presbyterian Church, 490 Camino El Estero (approximately 10:27
am)
h. YMCA of Monterey Peninsula/”WWII USO Building,” 600 Camino El Estero
(approximately 10:35 am)
i. Royal Presidio Chapel, 500 Church Street (approximately 10:40 am)
j. Marsh’s Oriental Art Store, 650 Camino El Estero (approximately 10:45 am)
k. Monterey Visitors Center, 401 Camino El Estero (approximately 10:55 am)
