Montpelier Education and Events Committee Wednesday January 4th: 5:30- 6:30 PM City Hall, City Managers Conference Room Members Present: Gary Holloway, Suzanne Eikenberry, Harris Webster, John Snell, Rebecca Harris (AmeriCorps VISTA) 1. Introductions 2. Interests and Goals a. Walk friendly community status b. Street walk Scramble in the spring c. Request tracker on the city website – we need publicity. This is short term problem. d. Harris – there will be a GPS system that will monitor the cracks. e. Suzanne sees an opportunity to get people out walking and biking when there is construction this summer. f. Online maps g. How do we get people to use other routes- signage (visual que) Education opportunity during construction? Can we put up temporary experimental signage? Who are we and what are we calling ourselves?  Bike/Ped promotion or promoting bike/ped committee  Promoting Alternative Transportation  Do we want to be a formal committee?  Don’t want to get too broad, but also want to be forward thinking about other uses/goals for committee 3.
