MONTPELIER RECREATION DEPARTMENT’S ADVISORY BOARD MEETING October 20, 2014 Attending Board Members: Andrea Talentino, Karlynn Koeneman, Aubrey Boyles. Absent Board Members: Buzz Surwillo, Ena Backus, Tom Golonka (City Council), Susan Aldrich (School Board) Attending Rec. Department: Arne McMullen, Director. Called to order 5:40 p.m. Passed out a couple of scenarios for the board to review. Continued the discussion about the upcoming budget and the challenge we have ahead of us if we want to level fund. Discussion will continue the last week in October with a date to be confirmed. The board looked over the latest hand outs and will make some suggestions at the next meeting. The board recommended meeting with the Mountaineers in November to work with them on paying more of their fixed costs in the future to help support their program and take some pressure off the recreation budget. The board wants to keep the FY 16 budget down as much as possible. Meeting adjourned at 6:35 p.m.
