• Update on downtown sidewalk work: John S reports the work is now complete; three tree showed
some minor damage to the trunks. Grates are mostly in place and well-fitted. John suggest we add
compost to all trees that were impacted and give them a good watering as soon as possible.
New Business
• • Request funds to purchase of battery-powered hedge trimmers (John S has requested to spend
approximately $200, believing we more and more often need this tool to clear sidewalk
obstructions; both Aubuchon’s and Allen Lumber have good quality, heavy duty products in the
price range. Note, City Treasurer is working to carry over 2016/17 funds based on John S request for
same.)
• Planning for Fall planting out of nursery trees in late September/October; John S has two locations
on Barre Street ready to plant; he spoke with the folks we bought stock from and they feel root
development will be conducive to fall planting.
• Special work group, August 22, Geoff will have 24 helpers from 9-2 and would like help from us to
lead projects
• Japanese knotweed caution (Lynn)
