3. Recycling Working Group and Solid Waste Authority Summit update (Karen/Jim)
4. Update on LED Streetlight Working Group (Jim) with meeting notes from Pam
5. Update on Climate Action Plan work by Downstream Strategies (Jim)
6. Proposal for team in 2019 to buy simple inexpensive “party tent.” To maximize public education on both the
team and environmental sustainability? (Details from Pam)
New Business
1. Climate conference: Law School conference on climate and energy on December 1. For more information,
see advertisements on the City’s Facebook group Green Morgantown.
2. Agenda posting online. Andrew Stacy asked Pam to send him the monthly meeting agenda 3 working days
before each meeting for posting on the City website, following state law (?) for advisory boards. Pam has set the
Tuesday before each Monday meeting as a deadline for member input on draft agendas.
3. Team contact with Republic Services. For now, team members should not call Republic Services directly, at
Paul Brake’s, City manager, request. However, the RRR Working Group may have regular contact with John
McGoran at Future SWA Summit meetings. We can clarify how to respect Paul’s wishes in a November meeting
with him on issues/info related to the LED Streetlight working group and 2019 continued budget for IAC
recommendation implementation.
4. Annual report to City Manager and Council. Per our by-laws, the team should discuss drawing up its 2018
report for presentation by the team at the January Committee of the Whole Meeting on the last Tuesday of the
month. This is also a time for the team to assure that energy-saving measures proposed by the team intern Alex
Davis in 2016 continue to receive adequate funding in the City budget.
5. Future meeting dates: December 3 and January 7 are the next two GT monthly meeting dates, all Mondays
at the Morgantown Public Library, Conference Room B, 5:30pm–7:00pm. Please mark them on your calendars.
Pam will set up the following three months (February, March, and April) and propose dates at the December
meeting.
