Health and Wellness Meeting
Thursday February 7, 2019
City Hall-Council Chambers at 7:30pm
PRESENT: Dan Shook, Ryan Wallace, Christine Wallace, David Loomis, and Meghan Kline
Absent: Colleen Harshbarger and Patrick Hathaway
The meeting was called to order at 8:05 pm.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Minutes from 1/10/19 were approved.
PUBLIC PORTION: N/A
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
A. Web Design Teams are still working and updated will be provided at next meeting
NEW BUSINESS:
A. Population Health Update
a. Colleen and Meghan met with Chris McCormick
b. Discussed data sharing
c. Discussed partnerships
B. Discussed idea of “yard sharing”
a. Community members share their yards for gardening and share their produces
OLD BUSINESS:
A. Blue Zones
a. Commissioners reviewed the draft of the assessment and consensus was that we expected a
more informative report
b. Awaiting more information at upcoming presentation on 3/12/19.
ACTION ITEMS:
A. Next meeting 3/7/19 at 7:30
B. Rough draft of website design by each team

3. New Business:
a. Potential for Partnering with WVU Medicine Population Health
4. Follow-Up Items:
a. Blue Zones sent a draft report to be viewed by the planning team only.
Revisions were sent and we are waiting for those to be included before
sending out to HWC. This is not for public viewing.
b. Website Update: Would like to have the framework ready for Andrew
Stacy after 2/7/19 meeting.
5. Public Portion:
a. Alzheimer’s Association
b. Community Garden
