Attendance: Alexandria Slovos, Sabina Nduaguba, Susan Klingensmith, Ronalie Abeyratne, Dylan Thomas, Mason Arbogast 1. CALL TO ORDER: 7:05pm. Two new members who joined commission were introduced 2. APPROVE MINUTES: Approved by Ronalie 3. REPORTS a. CITY COUNCIL b. BOPARC: Susan will be replaced in January 2024. From February, BOPARC will be closed for improvements. BOPARC awarded a grant for a program for seniors 4. FOLLOW-UP ITEMS a. Walk/Karaoke Information Update As part of the goal of publicity and to raise funds, it was agreed that a Karaoke would be an ideal event. b. Funding We will apply for a grant at Region 4. Dylan suggested we might be eligible for a DHHS grant. Mason suggested partnering with groups that might have funding such as WVU Athletics 5. NEW BUSINESS  MORGANTOWN Health & Wellness Commission a. New Members Mason – WVU Community Engagement Dylan – WVU ORGE Old members also introduced themselves b. Current Members & Contact Information A spreadsheet is in Google Drive for members to fill their contact information c. Events/Exposure Flyers, stickers, social media were suggested to promote the Commission d. Collaboration with WVU SOM Community Service Committee The directory for service organization across Morgantown is available. Dylan showed members resources available through WVU Health Connection. Community garden or provision of seeds to distribute to residents, and provision of education on healthy cooking and nutrition was suggested 6.
