Andrew Gatlin, Sgt. Bill Runyan Members Absent: Ryan Wallace, Frances Brownfield MATTER OF BUSINESS: Chairman Matt Cross called the meeting to order at 6:30p.m. and held roll call. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Brenden McNeil, 710 Sherman Avenue, spoke about the new development in second ward over by the Circle K. He stated that he is concerned that the development will increase traffic in the area and vehicular speeds will increase as well. He has requested traffic calming be considered for the area. Discussion ensued. Traffic study to be performed. MEETING MINUTES Erica Bowe moved to approve April Minutes. Martin Dombrowski seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Chip Wamsley reported on the Bicycle Board Activities. Matt Cross reported on the Pedestrian Safety Board. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS: Drew Gatlin reported on the City Engineering Departments activities, gave Paving update, updated on the traffic studies. Drew discussed the request to install parking on Business Parking on Green Street. He stated that there has been Business Parking spots across the street in the past for the various businesses that have been located at 260 Green Street. Discussion ensued. Erica Bowe moved to install the business parking where it was prior to the previous business being closed in order to provide on street parking for the new business. William Blosser seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. Drew Gatlin reported on the request for the removal of on street parking on Cornell Avenue. Discussion ensued. Matt Cross hand out packets to Commission members and reviewed the DOH projects. Matt Cross discussed MPO projects and meetings. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Drew Gatlin reviewed the history, nature of request and crash data of the intersection of Parkview Drive, Elmhurst Street and Laurel Street. Drew Gatlin suggested moving the stop signs from their current location on Laurel Street to Elmhurst Street and Parkview Drive. Discussion ensued. Martin Dombrowski moved to follow the recommendation of Staff Engineer Drew Gatlin. Erica Bowe seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. NEW BUSINESS Matt Cross reviewed the traffic calming request on Ross Street. Discussion ensued. Engineering department to do traffic study. Drew Gatlin stated that we would investigate the history, crash data, and grade of the intersection of Price Street and Prospect Street and bring it back at a later date. Matt Cross reviewed the issue on Jefferson Street and Maple Avenue. Drew Gatlin stated that the Engineering Department will investigate the history, crash data, and grade of the intersection and bring a recommendation to the Commission members. Drew Gatlin reviewed the request to remove parking on the right side of Overdale Street from Wilson to Conn Street. Erica Bowe moved to paint the curb yellow on the right side of Overdale Street from Wilson to Conn Street. Martin Dombrowski seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. COMMISSION COMMENTS Adjournment: Martin Dombrowski moved to adjourn. Chip Wamsley seconded motion. Motion passed unanimously
