Minutes of Thursday August 27, 2020
Members present: John Trumble, Marti Shamberger, Chris Haddox, Ron Dulaney, Ross
Justice, and Marly Hazen . Guest Danielle Trumble WAN president
The meeting was called to order by Chris Haddox at 6:04 p.m. via ZOOM. It was noted
that there was not a meeting in July 2020.
Chris Haddox introduced and welcomed our new member Ross Justice.
Outside property issues of high grass, garbage and loose flashing on the front parapet were
noted. Marti Shamberger had been in touch with Carol Allen at the City Manager’s office
regarding the grass and garbage and would follow up. Chris Haddox had brought the loose
flashing to the attention of Damian Davis and Alex Stockdale before, and would follow up.
The front right parapet was were water had leaked in the room before.
There wasn’t a status update on the $450K CDBG grant. Ron Dulaney noted that Chris
Fletcher Director of Development Services had resigned and wasn’t sure who our contact
would be for the CDBG grant project status.
John Trumble agreed to reach out to Alex Stockdale on any updates on the Energy Bond.
Tenants:
Boys and Girls Club, there has been no update from the club. It was noted that the Boys
and Girls Club will not be in the County Schools this year.
PopShop has had some remote lessons. No final decisions have been made for this Fall.
Friends of Decker’s Creek have still been operating out of their building.
M.T. Pockets have not been using their space.
It was suggested that all tennant be encouraged to apply for any Cares Act money
available thru the State. Jim Goff, the Finance Manager at the City may be helpful for
questions about applying for assistance.
Commission members were to follow up with tenants or city departments as assigned.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
The next meeting will be September 24, 2020 6:00 p.m. via ZOOM(details were attached
to the agenda).
