MOSES LAKE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD
A regular meeting of the Moses Lake Airport Advisory Board was held at the Airport Operations
Building, Friday, noon, July 12,2019. The meeting was called to order by Richard Pearce.

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT/ABSENT/EXCUSED: Present: Richard Pearce, Finley Grant, and Darrin
Jackson. Excused: A motion was made by Darrin to excuse Tom Dent and Tim Prickett. Motion was
seconded by Rnley Grant and unanimously approved.
OTHERS PRESENT: Fred Snoderly, Municipal Services Director, Debne Krueger, and Nancy Cortez, Public
Works Secretary.
MINUTES: A motion was made by Richard to accept the minutes from June 21,2019 as corrected. The
motion was seconded by Darrin and unanimously approved.
CORRESPONDENCE: No correspondence.
AIRPORT INSPECTION: The July inspection was done by Darrin.The July inspection will be done by Rnley.
OLD BUSINESS:
A. LEASES: Tom has scheduled a meeting between the AdvisoryBoard and CityCouncilto discuss
leases and insurance requirements. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, August23,2019. Richard will
present concerns on behalf of the Advisory Board.
B. WEED CONTROL: Darrin sprayed yesterday, including Wind T, non-commerciallots, and non-
leased lots. Reportedthat the weed sprayer needs a new sure flow pump. Discussed issue of havinga lot
of trash to pick up and possibly finding a committee servicegroup to help.
C. FILL IN SW CORNER: Rll needs to be graded smooth. Discussed issueof irrigation water bleedingoff
into ditch.
D. EXTERIOR PAINTING OF OPS BLDG: No update.
E. MUNICIPAL HANGAR ROAD, GRAVEL/RELOCATE: When the curb was extended, hangar access was
also curbed. Thiscauses trafficto route through Tom's property. This issue will be addressed.
F. SPRINKLER SYSTEM: No update.
G. WIND "T" IMPROVEMENTS: It has been painted and looks nice. There will be 30 pounds of
gravel delivered next week. Tim donated PVC pipeto use for marking. It will be cut into segments and
staked down. Darrin commented on using red reflective tape to stripe out the Wind "T".The old tires on
the property are being removed.
H. FUEL STATION: Darrin has put out feelers to find out if anyone is interested in putting in a fuel
station. Hopingto find someone who wants to put in the fuel station, take on the liability, and set the
rates.
I. HELICOPTER LANDING AREA: No update.
NEW BUSINESS:
A. VOLUNTEER TIME:Volunteer timesheets were turned in by Rnley and Richard. Darrinwill drop his
off at the Public Works office.
B. OTHER: Since a courtesy inspection was done by City of Moses LakeCode Enforcement, some
violations have been fixed but some have not. Darrin pointed out that the airport property falls under
city ordinance. There was some discussion about sending out notices to existing customers requesting
cleanup of airport properties. Discussed establishing a deadline and enforcing ordinance for those not in
compliance. Darrin made a motion to send out notices to existing customers requesting cleanup on
airport properties. Motion died. Subject will be readdressed at the next meeting. In the meantime, if the
opportunity arises, board members will speak with violators.
Richard made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion was seconded by Darrin. The meeting adjourned
at 12:36 p.m.
