MOSES LAKE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD A regular meeting of the Moses Lake Airport Advisory Board was held at the Airport Operations Building, Friday, noon, August 9,2019. At the beginning of the meeting a motion was made by Finley to excuse Tom Dent and was seconded by Darrin and passed unanimously. Tom arrived at 12:13 p.m. OTHERS PRESENT: Darel Fullerand Tracey Law, PublicWorks Clerk. MINUTES: A motion was made by Tim to accept the minutes from July 12,2019. The motion was seconded by Finleyand unanimously approved. CORRESPONDENCE: No correspondence. AIRPORT INSPECTION: The August inspection was done by Finley. The September inspection will be done by Darrin. OLD BUSINESS: A. LEASES: Richard reported he is prepping for his lease presentation to the CityCouncil on August 27th. The Board discussed concerns they have with the current leases. Richard felt he had all their concerns covered in his presentation. Tom offered to meet with Richardto go over his presentation. B. WEED CONTROL: Darrin reported that this was the sixth time they have sprayed this year and felt they were way ahead of it this year, but will need to do some spraying in the fall. C. FILL IN SW CORNER: Darrin reported that it was 90 percent done but there is a leak. There was discussion on where the leak may be coming from. Fred is aware of the leak. D. EXTERIOR PAINTING OFOPS BLDG: Nothing has been done. They will ask Fred about it at next month's meeting. E. MUNICIPAL HANGAR ROAD,GRAVEL/RELOCATE: Tom had concerns about the curbing blocking access to his property and the loss of gravel. Richard reported Fred said it will be corrected. F. SPRINKLER SYSTEM: The system is working well, the grass is green and being mowed. The Board was interested in knowing how much the system cost. Richard will see if someone from Finance can come to the next meeting to go over the budget. G. WIND "T" IMPROVEMENTS: Darrin reported the work was done unless they want to paint red stripes on it. There was discussion on whether to use tape or paint. H. FUEL STATION: Darrin has contacted Million Air and they are interested in providing a fuel station. The cost would be approximately $58,000. He said that there could be some funding from the City for the station. Tim asked about the tanks at the Mosquito District and a card locksystem. Richard will contact the Mosquito Districtto find out their plans. I. HELICOPTER LANDING AREA: Tom will try to get some information from David Ketchum. NEW BUSINESS: A. VOLUNTEER TIME: Volunteer timesheets were turned in by Richard, Darrin, Finley, Tim and Darel. B. OTHER: The WSCAA annual conference is scheduled for October 24 and 25,2019. Darrin reported that the School District may be purchasing property off the end of the runway to build an elementary school.There was discussion on why this is not a good idea for both the Airportand the School District. Richard will try to get on the School Board's next agenda to explain the Advisory Board's concerns. Darrin and Finley reported garbage is collecting along the canal and fence line. Darrin felt the Board could contact community service people to clean up the garbage since it can no longer be burned. It was reported that all the concrete and tires have been removed but there is stillsome pipe. Darrin suggested replacing old bollards with new ones. Fred told him the Citycould help haul away the old ones. Darrin thought the Port might have some cable they would donate to the Airport. The Board discussed whether they would be interested in using cable on the bollards. Darrin reported that Boeing now has a manufacturing facility in Moses Lakewere they are parking the Max jets. The Port is also leasing Boeing space. Tim made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion was seconded by Finley and passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 12:52 p.m.
