Municipal Airport Commission

MOSES LAKE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING, APRIL 22, 2022 Aspecial meeting of the Moses Lake Airport Commission was held in person and remotely on April 22, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at the Airport Operations Building. Commission members present were Richard Pearce, Finley Grant, and Darrin Jackson. Others present were Dave Bren, Municipal Services Director; Trisha Kehret, Municipal Services Administrative Assistant, Tracey Law, Public Works Technician; Richard Waltman, Rod Richeson, and Larry Wheat. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Jackson. Mr. Grant was named the Interim Commission Chairman. Two new Commission members will be voted on for recommendation to the City Council at their next meeting, Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Resumes were received from four individuals. One of them, Mr. Chad Norberg, would like to be considered if the Commission decided to increase its numbers to seven. The three others who were attending the meeting, Richard Waltham, Rod Richeson, and Larry Wheat gave short introductions and reasons they would like to be on the Commission. Mr. Pearce made a motion to recommend Mr. Richard Waltman to be on the Commission. It was seconded by Mr. Grant and passed unanimously. Mr. Jackson made a motion to recommend Mr. Richeson. The motion was seconded by Mr. Pearce and passed unanimously. The Commission discussed the airport leases. Mr. Pearce presented the Commission with three leases he prepared, a commercial lease, a non-commercial lease, and a tie down lease. He requested the Commission to review them before the next meeting. Mr. Pearce asked Mr. Bren to speak to the Finance Department about getting a current financial report for the airport fund. Commissioners discussed the need to meet more than once a month. Mr. Jackson would like to hold the meetings in the evenings. The Commission was encouraged to have meetings in the City Council Chambers. The Commission would like to meet again on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 6 p.m. The Commission will need check to see what days the Council Chambers are available.
