Approval of Minutes of Prior Meeting Mr. Maynard moved the draft minutes of April 12, 2017, be approved as submitted. Motion seconded by Mr. Tracey. Motion unanimously approved and passed. Communication/Correspondence None. Program Promotion – Monthly Update Many of our spring programs are almost over. Our summer brochure will be out soon. Naming/Renaming City Facilities – Assignment to Review/Recommend Significant discussion held regarding suggestions and ideas for drafting a new ordinance for naming and renaming city facilities. Mr. Maynard made a motion to authorize Mr. Grigg to take the recommendations members have made tonight and incorporate them into a draft ordinance for them to review and discuss. Motion seconded by Mr. Tracey. Motion unanimously approved and passed. Plat Reviews/Dedication, or Fee in Lieu of Land – Monthly Update Single Home Site Development None. Apartment Complex Development None. Director’s Report Staffing – Update Internal interviews for the recreation superintendent position will be held a week from tomorrow. We had five people apply for the position. Surf ‘n Slide – Update We are in the process of having the two flowrider pumps rebuilt and we have had to do some touch-up on the paint. The pool will open Memorial Day weekend. PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES MAY 10, 2017 WRPA Conference – Update Mr. Grigg attended the Washington Parks and Recreation Association conference last week and was very impressed with the break-out sessions, keynote speakers and trade show.
