MOUNT PLEASANT TOWN COUNCIL SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING Tuesday, January 12, 2021, 5:15 p.m. Municipal Complex, Council Chambers 100 Ann Edwards Lane Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 MINUTES I. Call to Order Mayor Haynie called the meeting to order at 5:17 p.m. Council members Howard Chapman, Brenda Corley, Laura Hyatt, Kathy Landing, Jake Rambo, Tom O’Rourke, Gary Santos and Guang Ming Whitley were all present. II. Public Comment Kevin Cunnane, 3032 River Vista Way, congratulated athletes and parents for all their efforts to win championships. He stated that on April 27, 2020, the Will Haynie for Mayor Facebook page posted a photograph of a family at the Egypt Road facility using the park when they were not supposed to. He said he is not sure who took the picture, but it was posted on Will Haynie’s Facebook page. He said this is wrong. III. Presentation of the Civic Pride Award Nicole Harvey, Special Events Manager, along with Mayor Haynie and Town Council members, presented the Civic Pride Award to Dr. McLean and Emit Sheperd from Sheperd Integrative Dermatology for outstanding beautification of their outdoor office space. IV. Recognition of the 12U Football State Champions Councilman Gary Santos, Recreation Committee Chairman, together with Mayor Haynie and Town Council members recognized the Town’s Recreation Department, Twelve and Under Football State Champions, under Coach Belcher and a group of coaches. Recognition of the Lucy Garrett Beckham High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team State Champions Councilman Gary Santos, Recreation Committee Chairman, together with Mayor Haynie and Town Council members recognized the Lucy Garrett Beckham High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team State Champions, led by coach Michelle Kraus.
