SPECIAL TOWN COUNCIL MEETING Tuesday, October 10, 2023, 5:00 p.m. Municipal Complex, Council Chambers 100 Ann Edwards Lane, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 MINUTES 1. Call to Order Mayor Pro Tempore Gary Santos called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Brenda Corley, Howard Chapman, Laura Hyatt, Jake Rambo, John Iacofano, Guang Ming Whitley and Carl Ritchie were all present. Mayor Haynie was absent. 2. Public Comment There were no public comments. 3. Recognition of Town of Mount Pleasant Aquatics Staff Mayor Pro Tempore Santos and Steve Gergick recognized Lifeguards Nicholas Pessillo, Michael Hamlin, Geoffrey Dreyer, Lucas Herold, and Swim Team Coach Paul Curran for their quick thinking and lifesaving efforts to a Mount Pleasant resident in distress. 4. Executive Session Mr. Rambo moved to go into executive session to discuss the items listed on the agenda and read by Mayor Pro Tempore Santos, seconded by Ms. Whitley. All present voted in favor. The meeting was adjourned into executive session at 5:10 p.m. a. Legal and Contractual (1) Legal advice on Liberty Hill Farms Development Agreement (DA) Amendment. Request to amend the current Development Agreement for five years and to amend the development schedule (2) Legal advice and possible action on pending litigation entitled CKC Properties, LLC vs. Town of Mount Pleasant, et al (2021- CP-10-4416 and 2021-CP-10-5211) b. Personnel Consideration of applications to serve on the Planning Commission 5. Post Executive Session Committee may take action on any item, including any subsection of any section, listed on an executive session agenda or discussed in an executive session during a properly noticed meeting. Mayor Pro Tempore Santos reconvened the meeting at 5:57 p.m. Mr. Pagliarini stated we are out of executive session and no votes were taken. Ms. Whitley moved that the Town file a Notice of Appeal on the pending litigation entitled CKC Properties, LLC vs. Town of Mount Pleasant, seconded by Mr. Rambo. All present voted in favor. Mr. Chapman moved to appoint Michael Adam Ferrara to the Planning Commission, seconded by Ms. Whitley. All present voted in favor. Page 2 of 3 6.
