Mr. Owens called the meeting to order at 8:31 a.m.
1. Approval of Minutes from the June 4, 2018 meeting
Ms. Landing moved for approval; seconded by Mr. Santos. All present
voted in favor.
2. Public Comments
[None]
3. Award of contract for pipe replacement in the North Point subdivision
Mr. Griles stated that this project is to replace pipe in the North Point
subdivision. There are four locations where pipe replacement will be
necessary. He said the pipes had degradation on the sides, as well as
voids on the outside of the pipes. To address the voids, we must dig
around the pipe. So we would replace the pipe rather than attempt to
repair them. He added that there are two pipe sections that are 15
inches in diameter and two that are 24 inches in diameter. The Town
proposes to utilize the on-call contract with Utility Asset Management,

Inc., and recommends awarding the contract to them in the amount of
$430,341.75.
Mr. Owens stated that it appears to be metal spiral pipe that is being
replaced and asked how many feet will be replaced.
Mr. Griles stated that the total is 166 linear feet.
Mr. Santos asked what type of pipe will replace the old ones.
Mr. Jody Peele, Public Services Director, stated that it will all be concrete,
because they will be located under roadways.
Mr. Santos made a motion to approve staff’s recommendation to contract
with Utility Asset Management, Inc., in the amount of $430,341.75 to
perform the pipe replacement in the North Point Subdivision; seconded by
Ms. Landing. All present voted in favor.
4. Adjourn
There being no further business, meeting adjourned at 8:35 a.m.
